THE OHIO HIP HOP AWARDS ARE BACK

It's a lifestyle. It's mainstream. It's on t.v, on the radio and in magazines. What is it? It's hip hop. A force to be wreckoned with, hip hop, believe it or not, is indeed inevitable. It's everywhere and it's definitely here in Cleveland. Gracing the streets of Cleveland, are some of the most talented rappers, lyricists, designers, models, writers, b-boys, grafitti artists and the list goes on. Hip Hop is not just the music that you hear, but it is a culture that Cleveland has definitely embraced and as a result of this love for hip hop, the Ohio Hip Hop Awards were birthed.

Four years ago, this September, the OHHA has been dedicated to highlighting some of Ohio's finest in the hip hop industry. Recognizing your favorite Dj to the hottest record label in Ohio to the best model, OHHA is focused on growing the entertainment scene. According to ohiohiphopawards.com, this is "the state's largest networking and social event," bringing in "thousands of industry professionals."

OHHA's mission statement is, ".....to recognize and reward those who are making a positive and impactful difference in the scene, while simultaneously educating participants on the best practices towards success."

Previous sponsors of this event include but are not limited to: Heineken, Toyota Scion, Red Bull, Radio One, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a list of other recognizable local businesses.

This 3 day conference will take place this year, on September 19, 2009 at downtown Cleveland's Convention Center. Nominations began on May 1st, and the categories include but are not limited to: Best New Artist, Best New Group, Best Model, and Best Night club. A complete list of categories and more details on this year's conference and showcase can be found on the official OHHA website, www.ohiohiphopawards.com.
